The EN388 Glove Label, Decoded
EN388 is the European standard for mechanical risks, and its shield pictogram carries a code that many North American buyers see but few decode.
Reading the code
The characters, in order, rate: abrasion (0–4), coupe cut (0–5), tear (0–4), puncture (0–4), then an optional TDM cut letter (A–F, the more reliable cut measure for high-performance yarns), and an optional impact P for pass.
An “X” means the test wasn’t applicable or performed. Pair EN388 with the ANSI cut level for a full picture — our lines carry both, and the documentation ships with your sample.
